Topography
The Ojibwe mostly live around Lake Superior, about 500 feet above sea level and in the northern parts of Minnesota, Wisconsin and Michigan as well as central- west Ontario. Spread across such a vast section of the country the Ojibwe have strong communication with the other tribes as well as an advantage of transportation since they live near the great lakes. Walking on land is also trouble-free because the land is mainly flat except for the few rolling hills and mountains with low elevation. The tallest mountain in this area is Eagle mountain located specifically in northeast Minnesota, with a height of 2301 feet. Apart from the mountains, also in north-eastern Minnesota lie the Vermilion and Mesabi Iron ranges. Through out the rest of the Ojibwe regions there is fertile soil for the variety of perfect vegetation.
